What runs today vs what is planned.

This page is the factual ledger behind the Litepaper. Narrative copy may mix live and planned features in one arc; this page does not. Last reviewed: 23 September 2026 Status labels: Live runs in production for users; a note in parentheses, such as (partial) or (free quota), narrows the scope. Beta is shipped but limited or experimental. Preview is visible but not yet functional for its end use. Pending is shipped but not working today until an update lands. Default-off is built and shipped in code but disabled in production. Off is built and switched off until a stated milestone. Prototype is research code that is not integrated into production. Planned (optionally with a milestone such as v0) is not built or not released. Not available is not offered. See the Glossary.

Buyer API

Sticky conversations	Live	`X-MacProvider-Conversation` sets a preference (not a guarantee) for the provider that served earlier turns, for up to 1,800 s. It often routes elsewhere; only sticky hits bill at the cache-hit rate. `DELETE /v1/sticky` clears your sticky state. See Sticky conversations
Automatic prefix-cache reuse	Live	Repeated prompt prefixes can reuse a Mac’s KV cache without a header. Reported in `prompt_tokens_details.cached_tokens` and billed at the full prompt rate. Does not affect routing
Provider pinning by buyers	Not available	Buyers cannot steer a request to a specific provider. See Provider attribution
Multi-turn tool calling	Live	Qwen-family models multi-turn; gpt-oss first turn only. See Tool calling
Structured output (`json_schema`)	Live	Strict schema subset, validated after generation (not constrained decoding). See Structured output

Warm models	Live	A catalog model routes only when an eligible Mac serving it is online. Requests for a model no routable Mac serves return `404 model_not_found`. Two were warm at the snapshot below

Settlement, credits, and payouts

Buyer-visible receipt header	Live (partial)	Some non-streaming responses carry a v0.3 receipt in `X-MacProvider-Receipt` (currently roughly a quarter to a third); streams never do. For the rest, use `/v1/receipts`. It never carries the v0.4 settlement receipt. See Signed receipts

Economics — today vs launch

Today (pre-beta marketplace): providers earn 90% of gross credits; operator retains 10%. Credits accrue on the billing ledger. Public buyers use a free daily quota and are not charged. USDC-on-Base payout is off and planned for public beta. Details: Economics, Payments & payouts. At token launch (planned): buyer USDC splits 70% provider / 12% reserves / 18% market-buy-and-burn. Described in the Litepaper flywheel section; not active in production billing.

From GET https://api.malibu.tech/v1/status at 04:59:35 UTC: 5 providers ready, none degraded or draining. Warm models: mlx-community/Llama-3.2-3B-Instruct-4bit (4 ready providers) and mlx-community/Qwen3.6-27B-4bit (1). nodes_online also counts connected Macs that were not ready to route at that moment. Treat narrative pool-size claims as unverified if the stats endpoints are down.
